MISSION
To be a Christ oriented ministry devoted to excellence in service to parents and children in our community.
To be fully committed to the complete nurturing of children.
To provide stimulation and opportunity for development intellectually, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
To glorify God by providing the best care possible through love, personal attention, and spiritual guidance.

PHILOSOPHY and PURPOSE

King’s Gate is designed to promote the child's total development: spiritual, social/emotional, cognitive, and physical. Our intent is to encourage in each child a love of God as we know Him in Jesus Christ, a positive view of self, creative self-expression, an attitude of cooperation and sharing, and an expanding knowledge of the world in which we live. In addition, we combine accreditation and age-appropriate activities in a spiritually based environment.

CHRISTIAN EMPHASIS
We believe that the Bible is the true and inspired Word of God.

Biblical teaching, values and principles are integrated into all subjects, daily school activities, and experiences. They are allowed the freedom to incorporate God’s wisdom in their daily teaching.

ACCREDITATION
King's Gate's Mother's Day Out is accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International. You can be assured that we are maintaining the highest standards for our classrooms.

CURRICULUM
To provide the best experience possible, the King’s Gate’s Child Development Center utilizes an enriched curriculum. The curriculum defines benchmark goals that our teachers will help your child achieve as they participate in various activities each day. The benchmark goals cover four developmental areas: spiritual, social/emotional, cognitive, and physical. The curriculum meets requirements for our ACSI accreditation while providing a variety of fun and exciting activities within a routine that provides care and comfort. At the end of the year, our parents receive a document about the activities provided and/or observations made of their children exhibiting growth in each benchmark area. Parents enjoy looking back over the year and remembering their child’s growth and development.

PROGRAM ENRICHMENT & SPECIAL EVENTS:

Bible Adventure Time for 2-5 year olds
The teachers will present a Bible story each day. Many of our stories are presented using CRC Publications’ God Loves Me Curriculum.

*You can reinforce these Bible stories at home using our newsletter as a guide.

Bible Truth Pursuit for Babies and Toddlers
The babies and toddlers will be exposed to basic Bible truths daily as the teachers use manipulatives and simple songs to help the children learn: God made everything, God sent Jesus because He loves them, they can love God and love God's Word.

The Art Cart
The Art Cart will visit every classroom (except the Baby Room) 4 times or more a month. The children have the opportunity to participate in developmentally appropriate art activities that reinforce our Bible stories or go along with the season. Our Art Cart is an enormous enrichment factor for our program. The program allows for the development of fine motor skills, eye hand coordination, color recognition, and creative expression. You and your child will enjoy the projects.

Gymboree
Gymbore comes to MDO one Tuesday and one Friday each month. All children participate. Gymboree is scheduled so that those who go to King’s Gate for part of the MDO day can still participate. Each class is 30 minutes in length. Gymboree includes activities such as movement to music, songs and parachute play. Imaginary themes support your child’s ability for dramatic play and encourage socialization and creativity. Children explore movement and language through concept themes such as Small/Large, Up/Down and In/Out. All classes are presented by trained and experienced teachers and provide your child with unique developmental play activities. We do not change extra for Gymboree. We do ask parents to help their child find sponsors for the spring fundraiser The Amazing Race. The funds raised help us provide Gymboree, the Art Cart, and generous teaching resources and program enrichment opportunities.

Special Visitors
We will have special guests periodically. In the past our visitors have included Fire Station #15, Professor B. Looney, Okie Dokie, the 5W’s Ranch Trick Ropers, Safe Kids, Science Camp and Crittermania. We love to have family members come and share special talents with the children. Please let us know if you have something to share.

GUIDANCE AND DISCIPLINE
The classrooms and program allow for such an array of activity and fun that discipline is rarely a problem. The teachers may model conflict resolution techniques and alternatives, remove an object of contention, redirect or divert a child’s attention, speak to a child off to the side, or help a child take a few minutes to regroup.

·Love and Logic is also used in the classroom to help children make good choices that take into account the logical consequences of their choices.

·On rare occasions, a child may stay in the Director’s office for a short time to allow all children to have a positive experience without disruption and allow teachers to focus on the activity that has been planned for the class. The teacher will notify parents if their child has spent time away from the classroom.
